Reindeer Day at the Salamanca Historical Society Museum

Reindeer Day is here!  Kids can visit Dancer, in person, as well as Santa!  Santa and Dancer will be greeting guests outside the doors of the museum.  Adults can have some fun at the basket raffle and bake sale.  Baskets will be all sizes and shapes, filled with a variety of items.  Tickets are just $1 a piece or the price goes down the more tickets you buy!  The museum is full handicap accessible and will be open during these time as well!  Explore the old classroom or see the military uniforms of the past.  

Spring Opening of the Salamanca Area Historical Society Museum

The Museum is set to open April 1st, 2014 after a long winter!  Members and volunteers have been working very hard and sometimes very late at night over the winter to do some early spring cleaning at the museum.  There will be new displays for visitors to look at on the first floor. We have updated our gift shop. The museum board is currently setting up it's summer speaker series so stay tuned or stop by!

Seneca Iroquois National Museum Reopens

The Seneca-Iroquois National Museum located at 814 Broad Street in Salamanca, NY is re-opening on June 9, 2012 from 10:00am-5:00pm.  The Museum has been closed temporarily since January for needed repair work of the concrete floor throughout the museum.  We invite the public to stop in and see the slightly reconfigured interior of the Museum.  The Central Gallery and the Gift Shop has been enhanced as well.


Leon Fall Festival and Extreme Cowboy Event

The 11th Annual Leon Fall Festival and 3rd Annual Extreme Cowboy Event will be held on September 24, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to ??? 

Registration for the Cowboy Event starts at 8:00 a.m.

There will be crafters, Taste of Amish, Museum and Historic Church will be open all day, homemade ice cream, Music will be provided at the Gazebo by County Gospel Sound from 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m.

The museum is located in a beautifully restored 1882 bank building. The main floor features 2 bank vaults and displays of local history, memorabilia, and books filled with photos and information for visitors to enjoy.
